Every session follows the same three moves

  1. Enter a scenario. A patient presents with what a ship’s clinic would actually hand you, and nothing more.
  2. Make decisions with limited information. Choose assessment, investigation and treatment as the picture changes, against the clock.
  3. Review the debrief and practise again. See what each decision cost, what current guidance says, and run the case again.

Core training runs offline after setup, so a lost connection does not stop a case mid-way.

FAQ

Questions before you start

Who is The Ship Doctor designed for?

Doctors, nurses, paramedics and medics who work where hospital backup is delayed — ships, offshore installations, expeditions and remote clinics — and students preparing for those roles.

What works offline?

Core training and reference content work offline after setup. Installing the app, purchases, restoring a subscription, account services and updates all need a connection.

What is included in the books and how are they delivered?

Each book is a single searchable PDF. Checkout and delivery are handled by Gumroad, and the download link is issued immediately after payment.

Is this accredited training or patient-care software?

Neither. It is educational simulation and reference material. It carries no CME or CPD accreditation, and it does not give patient-specific advice.
